About the Award
The Orlando Da Silva Award for Improvement of Mental Wellbeing in the Justice Sector will be presented annually to an exceptional individual or organization.

Criteria
This award is awarded annually to one individual or group for the:
- Invention;
- Development; or
- Implementation
of:
- a policy;
- an initiative;
- an organization, group or network;
- an educational series; or
- a tool
that is designed to improve the mental wellness of the legal profession in Ontario and that stands out in its:
- Creativity/Uniqueness;
- Effectiveness;
- Broad Application or Replicability and Scalability; and
- Enduring Impact

Eligibility
Any person or group is eligible for the award, except a member of the OBA Board or its Awards Committee.

Nomination Procedure
A nomination requires the signatures of three OBA Members in good standing. To assist the Committee in its selection, please include the nominee’s resume and supporting letters if possible. The Committee is also interested in contributions to the community made by the nominee.

Selection Process
The Awards Committee, a standing committee of the Ontario Bar Association, chooses the winner of the Award.

Presentation
Award will be presented at the OBA Awards Gala on June 19, 2025, at the OBA Conference Centre, Toronto.
