Biography
Adil is a lawyer at Sotos, working on class actions, public interest litigation, and commercial litigation. His current cases include claims against governments for systemic discrimination against Indigenous children and students with disabilities, claims against Google for anticompetitive conduct in AdTech, and claims against McKinsey for enabling the opioid crisis. He has published textbook chapters on civil procedure; peer-reviewed articles on class actions, securities law, competition law, and legal theory; and shorter pieces on intellectual property, franchise law, and legal ethics. He has also lectured on privilege, privacy law, and consumer protection law. He is currently the Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Civil Litigation section and on the Young Advocates Standing Committee of The Advocates’ Society.Newsletter Editor

Biography
I am a commercial litigator and principal of a small commercial litigation boutique in downtown Toronto. I am a McGill law grad, 2005 call, having articled at a large Bay Street firm. I have an LLM in civil litigation from Osgoode. I have significant trial experience. My practice has a strong focus on commercial fraud actions and fraud based class actions. I am a strong supported or Pro Bono Ontario and devote significant time to pro bono matters, having taken a pro bono appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada in 2018. Biography
Robert is a lawyer and human resource advisor at Bernardi Human Resource Law. He has obtained a wide range of experience as an employment and labour lawyer, both as in-house counsel and in private practice. His time as in-house counsel coupled with his MBA has given Robert great insight into the needs of organizations. He is attuned to the types of considerations organizations must weigh when making decisions regarding their employees. Robert works with both unionized and non-unionized employers to find innovative ways to resolve conflicts and legal challenges in a cost-effective manner that is sensitive to the business needs of an organization. Robert advises employers and employees in contract negotiations, terminations, wrongful dismissals and collective bargaining matters. Robert also conducts workplace training and investigations. Robert has successfully represented clients at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as at the Human Rights Tribunal and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. He has also appeared as counsel at federal inquiries, mediations, arbitrations, trials and before various regulators. Robert takes pride in his ability to help parties resolve workplace challenges in situations they believed could not be resolved. Robert is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the executive of the Ontario Bar Association's Labour and Employment Division and the Mensa Canada Society.
