Adil Abdulla
Biography
Adil is a lawyer at Sotos Class Actions. His current class actions include claims against governments for systemic discrimination against Indigenous children, claims against Google and Facebook for anticompetitive conduct in digital advertising, and claims against McKinsey for enabling the opioid crisis. Adil has a JD / MA (Economics) and certificates in trade law, securities, cybersecurity, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. He has published peer-reviewed articles on securities, competition law, class actions, access to justice, and legal theory, as well as shorter pieces on intellectual property, franchise law, and legal ethics. He currently sits on the executives of the Civil Litigation and Class Actions sections of the Ontario Bar Association and is the Treasurer and a Director of West Scarborough Community Legal Services.

I am a commercial litigator and principal of a small commercial litigation boutique in downtown Toronto. I am a McGill law grad, 2005 call, having articled at a large Bay Street firm. I have an LLM in civil litigation from Osgoode. I have significant trial experience. My practice has a strong focus on commercial fraud actions and fraud based class actions. I am a strong supported or Pro Bono Ontario and devote significant time to pro bono matters, having taken a pro bono appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada in 2018. Ranjan Das, a 1995 call to the Bar, is a partner of the Toronto litigation boutique Berkow Youd Lev-Farrell Das LLP practising commercial and civil litigation. He is a member of the Civil Rules Committee, a past director of the Forest Hill Hockey Association and a present director of the Toronto Lawyers Association where he also sits on the Roundtable of Diversity Organizations (“RODA”) (that promotes the inclusion of diverse lawyers), and sat on the Granite Club board for 6 years. Ranjan is a “virtual” firm mentor in the Ryerson University’s Law Practice Program (a LSO alternative to traditional articling), and sits on the CBA Civil Litigation Section Executive too.
