Why nominee does Pro Bono Work
As a connected member of my community, it has become harder to say "no" in many cases. When it is hard to say "no", I listen to myself. We lawyers understand what is right even before understanding why "it" is right. I got into law to help people - so why not do that?
My Breakthrough Moment
Many but one that stands out is where a client saw me about a pension issue. Her husband was dead and the separation was... before I was called (1991). She had no money or personal abilities to look into the matter. After 1 & 1/2 years her pension is being paid out. She got the money. I got the feeling and money can't buy that.
