The Labour and Employment Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association is pleased to announce Malcolm MacKillop, Partner, Shields O'Donnell MacKillop LLP as its 2016 OBA Randall Echlin Mentorship Award winner.

As you may be aware, Court Services Division (CSD) is committed to modernizing practice areas to support accessible, fair, timely and effective justice services. As a result and in a continued effort to improve service to clients, I am pleased to advise that a vetting station will be implemented effective April 11, 2016 in the civil and family intake office with the Superior Court of Justice at 393 University Avenue.

The OBA Public Sector Lawyers Section is pleased to announce the Honourable Howard I. Wetston, Q.C. is the recipient of the 2016 Tom Marshall Award of Excellence for Public Sector Lawyers.

The OBA Trusts and Estates Law Section is pleased to announce Clare Sullivan, Partner, Aird & Berlis LLP as its 2016 Trusts and Estates Law Section Award winner.

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Ontario Bar Association member Lauren Rachlin on March 18, 2016.

This spring, the Insurance Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association will present its 11th Annual Award for Excellence in Insurance Law.

The Ministry of the Attorney General has launched a new pilot program that gives survivors of sexual assault access to free legal advice any time after the incident , regardless of how much time has passed. The pilot will be available to survivors living in the City of Toronto, the City of Ottawa , and the District of Thunder Bay later this spring.
