How we work
The OBA is governed by our branch by-law and policies along with the by-law of the CBA. Led by our President, our Board of Directors is made up of 23 members responsible for advancing the work of the Ontario Bar Association. They ensure the necessary resources for branch operations, and oversee the outcomes of our advocacy, programs and activities.
Provincial Council provides a forum for leaders in Ontario to learn, inform and promote the work of the OBA in our province. Provincial Council serves as an advisory group to the Board of Directors.
Our Executive Director leads OBA operations and manages our team so we can support and serve our members.
-
Our vision
The OBA strives to be indispensable to our members, the legal profession and the administration of justice in Ontario.
-
Our mission
As the professional association for Ontario's lawyers, judges and law students, the OBA will:
- Advance the interests of our members, the justice system and the rule of law in Ontario;
- Be the leading provider of high quality continuing professional development for lawyers throughout Ontario;
- Support a network where all our members share their practical experience, knowledge and ideas.
