The Ontario Bar Association was honoured to host RODA’s 4th Annual Diversity Conference: Accelerating a Culture Shift in the Legal Profession on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

On May 16th at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, the OBA’s Young Lawyer’s Division hosted its second annual sold-out Young Lawyers Gala, bringing together the next generation of legal leaders and influencers in the practice and business of law in Ontario.

On April 25th, the who's who of the Ontario legal profession attended the Ontario Bar Association's 2018 Award Gala hosted at the King Edward Hotel. The evening was a festive celebration of the achievements of the outstanding award recipients who have made exceptional contributions to the practice of law in Ontario and to the Ontario Bar Association.

OBA's Institute has now come to a close and once again the dedication and commitment of our volunteers was evidenced by the 30 quality programs that attracted more than 2,000 registrations in Toronto, Ottawa, Thunder Bay and online across the province.

On October 25, 2017, The OBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Section proudly awarded Cinnie Noble the 2017 OBA Award of Excellence for Alternative Dispute Resolution.

On December 4, 2017, the Public Sector Lawyers Section hosted a welcome reception for articling students and LLP candidates. Janet Minor, former Treasurer of the Law Society, attended as the keynote presenter.

The Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation brings together the civil bar to celebrate a colleague who has demonstrated the highest qualities of the profession. On Wednesday, November 22, 2017 the Ontario Bar Association honoured Mr. Peter Griffin at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto.

The OBA’s Workers’ Compensation Law Section recently awarded the annual Ron Ellis Award to Stephen Roberts and Michael Zacks in recognition of their exceptional contributions in the field of workers’ compensation law.

On June 27th, 2017, the OBA International Law Section proudly presented the OBA Award of Excellence in International Law to Matthew Kronby, Bennett Jones LLP. The event was held at Twenty Toronto Street Conferences and Events.

The OBA Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Conference (SOGIC) welcomed members of the OBA and the legal community to march in the 37th annual Pride Toronto parade on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Below are some of the photos from the day’s event!
