OBA position on non-discrimination in legal education noted in Toronto Star

A Toronto Star’s looks at the debate today by the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Convocation on whether Trinity Western University’s planned law school should be accredited.

It is an issue because Trinity Western University has a covenant that all students must adhere to which forbids sexual relations outside of a marriage between a man and woman.

The Ontario Bar Association’s position that there should be a non-discrimination requirement for all current and future law programs was noted in the story.

Mark Berlin, an OBA board member, is quoted in the story.
